Louis IX holds the Siege combat slot, yet his formation skills are built to buff Cavalry squads, not siege units. 🐎
Instead of raw single-target damage, his kit spends its budget on protecting his own line and picking apart enemies by where they stand.
Immunity Comes First
Miraculous Rainfall, his passive, has a chance to put random squads on his own side into a Sober status. Sober squads become immune to Silence, Disarm, Suppress, and Confuse, deal more damage, and take less damage for a set number of rounds. That immunity lands before an exchange even gets ugly, not as a reaction to it. 🛡️
Row Position Decides Damage
Royal Codes hits random enemy squads within range and punishes them differently depending on where they're standing. A front-row target gets its healing reduced, a mid-row target gets Suppressed and can't act, and a back-row target simply takes more damage for the following rounds. Same skill, three different outcomes, based entirely on enemy formation. 📐
Chain Needs A Landing
His ultimate, Army Breaker, preps for a set number of rounds, then has a chance to hit a random enemy squad, with an additional chance to recast on that same target again and again, growing stronger each extra cast. That chain only exists once the first hit actually connects. If the squad it's aimed at is already gone or the roll simply misses, there's nothing left to extend. 🎯
Would your defense rather eat Suppression on a mid-row squad, or extra incoming damage on the back row?
