Gaming News: : DELTARUNE Chapter 5 is out. Eight years in the making. Free if you own the game.

ShireHub's read: Eight years. A newsletter and occasional cryptic tweets. A community that kept theorising through a four-year gap between chapters, because the foundation was strong enough to hold. Whether Chapter 5 sticks the landing is a separate question. The answer starts arriving today.

In 2018, Toby Fox, the person behind Undertale, dropped the first chapter of DELTARUNE on Halloween with no announcement and no marketing. It was free. He asked people not to stream it for 24 hours.
Seven years later, the game is still going.
DELTARUNE follows Kris, Susie, and Ralsei in a town where a Dark World exists underneath ordinary life. Chapter 1 and 2 were free. Chapters 3 and 4 shipped in 2025 as a paid release. Chapter 5 is out today — free update for all existing owners, included in all new purchases at no extra cost.
Toby described Chapter 4 as "dark clouds on the horizon." He described Chapter 5 as turning around to watch the sun — "before it goes down completely."
Three weeks ago, he shared a piece of music. "10 years ago I made a song that sounded like this," he wrote. "It's called The Sunset of 7 Suns. This is the hope for Chapter 5 from 10 years ago." He posted it with nothing else.
Chapter 5 features a festival. Castle Town is back. New enemies called Floradinn appear in the Dark World.
Nobody knows what the ending looks like.
