Beowulf Is Tagged Cavalry, But 4 of His 8 Skills Are Named After Archers
Beowulf's official battle position is Cavalry, but 4 of his 8 skills are named directly after Archers.
Cavalry By Label
Pulled Beowulf's hero card the same way I did for Roland. His battle position reads Cavalry, no ambiguity there. That's the tag on his hero card, and it's the one a lot of players go off of when slotting him into a squad.
Archer Kit Everywhere
Then I checked his actual skill names. Slot 3, 4, 6, and 7 are Archer Defensive Formation II, Archer Offensive Formation II, Archer Awakened, and Discipline - Archers. Every one of those four is named after Archers, not Cavalry. That's the set of passives that scale up as Beowulf levels. 🐉
Formation Slots Confirm
I'm not reading between the lines here, these are the literal skill names players see in the skill tree. There's no Cavalry-branded skill anywhere on that list. His three special skills (Infinite Power, Dragon Slayer, Kraken Killer) focus on his own attacks and squad recovery without naming a troop type outright, so I'm keeping the Archer claim limited to the four clearly labeled formation and discipline skills.
Building Around Beowulf
So if the mental model was "Beowulf equals Cavalry hero, buff Cavalry around him," the data says otherwise for half his kit. Worth rechecking before locking in a squad composition around him.
Are you slotting Beowulf's squad as Cavalry because of his tag, or building around Archers because of what his passives actually say? 🤔
