Percival stands in the Siege slot, but four of his eight skills are built for Cavalry squads. 🛡️
Percival's own combat position is Siege, yet the biggest chunk of his kit only pays off when Cavalry squads are somewhere in his led legion.
Cavalry Gets The Callouts
Cavalry Defensive Formation II and Cavalry Offensive Formation II raise Cavalry Resistance and Might in his squad. Cavalry Awakened folds both of those into one stronger effect and adds a Cavalry combat speed boost on top, plus a bonus to his own Dictator passive. Discipline - Cavalry then stacks yet another Might increase onto any Cavalry troops in his legion. None of these four skills mention Siege units at all. Knight's Shield leans the same direction: part of it hands his Cavalry squads a dodge effect, with the rest going toward speeding up his own skill triggers.
His Slot Still Works
None of this breaks Percival as a Siege pick. His personal stat cap, Eternal Curse, and Knight's Shield's self-trigger boost all belong to him directly and fire regardless of what troop types stand around him. Eternal Curse hits every enemy squad with skill damage and a lingering debuff no matter what Percival's own formation looks like. Targeted Strike works the same way, reading the type of whatever enemy squad he just hit rather than checking his own side's composition. Put him in Siege with zero Cavalry nearby, and he still tanks his slot fine; four skills and part of a fifth just sit there with nothing to boost.
Pair Cavalry With Him 🧩
Getting full value means treating him less like a pure Siege anchor and more like a legion built around a Cavalry backbone that happens to have a Siege hero up front. Skip that pairing and you're only using half his kit on purpose.
Does your current lineup actually put Cavalry troops in the same legion as Percival, or is he holding Siege alone? ⚔️
