Zhuge Liang sits in the Siege slot, but three of his skills are written for Archer squads. 🏹
Zhuge Liang occupies the Siege combat slot, but Rapid Crossbow Fire, Empty City Strategy, and Archer Awakened all name Archer squads. 🏹
The Strategist's Real Target
Rapid Crossbow Fire turns every allied Archer squad's normal attack into a random-target hit with a chance at a second attack per round, Archer Awakened boosts allied Archer damage above a power threshold, and Discipline - Archers raises Archer Might inside his own legion. None of these three touch the Siege squad Zhuge Liang himself sits in. Only his active skill and Brilliant Pouch Plan, the crowd-control skill that puts random enemy squads into Hesitation, ride on his own position.
The Empty Siege Slot
Slot Zhuge Liang into Siege with no Archer squad placed anywhere else in the formation and Rapid Crossbow Fire, Archer Awakened, and Discipline - Archers all have nothing to grab onto. His personal Hesitation control from Brilliant Pouch Plan still fires either way, since that skill is tied to Zhuge Liang directly rather than to a troop tag. The three Archer-tagged skills are what actually goes quiet.
One Slot, Different Squad 📜
This is the same split-slot pattern seen on other Siege-position heroes whose kit is built around a second troop type instead of Siege units themselves. The combat slot tells you where he stands. The skill text tells you which squad actually benefits.
Before your next formation save, does an Archer squad sit somewhere close enough to Zhuge Liang's Siege slot to actually catch his three Archer skills?
