Attila sits in the Cavalry combat slot, and every one of his formation skills is written for Cavalry squads too. 🐎
No Mismatch Here
Civilization Trample, Iron Calvary Surge, Calamity, and Cavalry Awakened all name Cavalry squads directly, matching the slot Attila actually occupies. That is the opposite setup from heroes whose skill text points at a different troop type than their combat slot. Nothing here goes to waste from a slot mismatch, since the squad standing in his Cavalry position is exactly the squad his own skills are built to boost.
What His Kit Does
Iron Calvary Surge (the official in-game spelling, not a typo on our end) reduces troop power recovery on the lowest-power enemy squad while dealing damage over several rounds, and after Attila lands a combat skill, all friendly Cavalry squads get a stacking boost to their own skill release chance for the rest of the battle. Calamity opens combat by stacking a damage-taken debuff on every enemy squad, then gives Our Side's Cavalry squads a dodge chance and partial troop power recovery from a set round onward.
Building a Clean Fit 🎯
A clean slot-to-skill match like this makes formation planning simpler. You are not hunting for a second troop type to slot in somewhere else, since every skill Attila brings already lands on the same Cavalry squad carrying him.
Do you run Attila with a pure Cavalry formation, or mix him into a formation with other troop types anyway?
