Caesar's ultimate grows stronger each time it triggers in the same battle.
Caesar's signature skill does not hit hardest on its first activation, it hits hardest on its last. Every successful cast during a fight makes the next one worse for whoever is standing across from him. 🐍
Each Cast Escalates
Caesar's named ultimate, Dictating Ruler, follows his normal attacks: a chance to land physical damage on an enemy squad, and here is the part that matters, every time the skill actually goes off, its own damage rate permanently climbs for the rest of that battle. It only fires once per round at most, so it is not a burst button, it is a compounding one. The longer Caesar stays alive and keeps triggering it, the scarier that number gets.
Built For Cavalry
Unlike some of the roster where the battle slot and the formation buffs point in different directions, Caesar's card is straightforward. His slot is Cavalry, and his Guard Formation, Assault Formation, and the Awaken/Discipline pair rounding out his kit are all Cavalry-type too. Build a cavalry march around him and every part of his card is pulling in the same direction, nothing sits idle.
Keep Him Fighting
Because the payoff is cumulative rather than immediate, the practical read is simple: protecting Caesar and letting the fight run long is worth more than trying to force a fast finish. A fight that ends before he gets a few casts in never lets that damage rate climb to where it matters. Against him, the flip side holds too, closing out the fight quickly denies him the escalation entirely.
Do you play Caesar for a quick opener, or do you build the whole march to keep him swinging round after round? ⚔️
