A gather march on the World Map is a resource type pick.
This march you either send troops to Gather the resource your next printed city cost is asking for, or you send them to the closest tile you can already reach.
What This Means
Gathering Iron, Gathering Lumber, and Gathering Food are separate tile types. A march sitting on one type is a march not sitting on the others in the same window. Exact gather speed, payload, and tile size are not yet confirmed. Open your next printed city cost and the World Map tile in front of you before you tap march.
Do not assume one resource covers every queue. Confirm which resource the cost is asking for, then confirm which tile your free march can actually reach.
How to Use It
Pick the tile against the cost you can see this session, not against a habit of always gathering the same type.
- If the next printed cost is Iron, and an Iron tile is in range of a free march, send that march to Gather Iron. Community experience: a warehouse full of Lumber still fails an Iron cost.
- If the next printed cost is Lumber, send the march to Gather Lumber. If the cost is Food, send it to Gather Food. That is a cost read, not a ranking.
- If you only have one free march and the matching tile is far, name the walk time on your own panel. A closer tile of the wrong type does not pay the missing cost. A matching tile you never reach also does not pay it.
Watch Out For
Gathering the type you already overflow can leave the bottleneck unpaid. Walking past a matching tile to a farther one of the same type is extra time for the same resource. Community experience: "I always Gather Lumber" often becomes a session that never opened the printed cost. Read the cost, name the type, then name the tile.
This post does not rank Iron, Lumber, or Food. Gather speed, payload, and tile size are not yet confirmed here.
Closing Question
This gather march, do you send it to the resource type the next printed city cost is asking for, or to the closest World Map tile your free march can already reach?
