I was scrolling through a list of movies that wasted great plots earlier, and one tiny detail about Whistle stuck with me. There’s a death scene where a car accident gets reenacted inside someone’s bedroom. Think about that. Walls caving like a crumpled hood, glass shattering from a fake windshield, maybe even a steering wheel crashing through the bed frame? That’s pure, gnarly horror gold. But the rest of the kills are tepid, forgettable, and totally lacking imagination. It’s such a wasted opportunity. They had this perfect blueprint and just didn’t follow through.
