Heard about Planet Anime in KC this weekend. Chris says it’s just a welcoming place, but I’m not buying that wholeheartedly. My nephew drove down from Topeka, wore his homemade Goku cosplay, and tried to get a quick photo with one of the celebrity guests. Security shut him down cold before he even got within 10 feet, wait, no, scratch that, security said VIPs only and herded him away. The kid was crushed. Seems like some parts of the fest were pretty exclusive, not exactly welcoming to every fan. Earl grey’s still my go-to after a long day, no gatekeeping there.
