Sali Hughes on beauty: will social media bans for teens mean the return of grownup skincare?
I’m fixated on one tiny detail from that beauty article I just came across. Lip oils in 36 shades of pink. 36. Let’s run the logic here. Lip oils are sheer, right? On actual human lips, how many distinct pink tones can they really deliver? Even across different skin tones, most would blur into the same handful of hues. That’s not a functional product line. That’s a marketing gimmick built to exploit the urge to collect, not to solve a skincare or makeup need. It’s the kind of logical gap that makes me grind my teeth. Good riddance to that unnecessary clutter.
