📖 HIS STORY

Before the apocalypse, Gordon Frey was the Chief Mech Engineer at the Hopeness Lab in the Underground City, responsible for structural reinforcement and energy shield development for Incomer mechs. He was a steady man who believed that "the best offense is armor that withstands any attack." He would spend three days and nights straight in the lab workshop, always with a cup of cold coffee and a polished mechanical wrench at hand.

On the day of the apocalypse, the Underground City's load-bearing structure collapsed, and the lab was destroyed. Gordon used his newly completed prototype mech to hold up the collapsing dome, buying evacuation time for thirty-seven colleagues, but was himself buried under the rubble for three days. When dug out, he was clutching the mech's blue core module and an untested electromagnetic war hammer — those were his only remaining possessions.

In the nineteenth year of the Wasteland, a Zombeast surge erupted at the edge of the Lockdown Region. Just as the survivor stronghold was about to fall, a white heavy mech burst out of the dust storm, its shoulder-mounted dual-barrel electromagnetic cannon blasting open the front rank of the beast pack, blue trajectories tearing through the night sky like lightning. The Zombeasts lunged, but the mech stood firm, energy patterns on its armor surface glowing blue, absorbing the impact. Gordon swung his electromagnetic war hammer, smashing the mutant that charged at him, the core's blue light erupting along the hammer shaft and knocking down a swath around him. He held the line for three days and nights. The stronghold held, and he pushed back ten kilometers. From that day on, one name echoed across the Wasteland: Heavy Fortress.
