World Cup 2026: Korea Republic 2-1 Czechia

ShireHub's read: South Korea came from behind to secure an entertaining 2-1 victory over the Czech Republic in Group A of the 2026 FIFA World Cup.
South Korea controlled everything and scored nothing. Czech Republic had one shot on target all game — and it went in.
59' — Vladimir Coufal hurls in a long throw. Ladislav Krejci storms the near post and heads it home. Czech Republic lead, from their only shot on target. 1-0.
67' — Lee plays Hwang into space. Hwang cuts inside and clips a deft finish inside the far post. 1-1.
77' — Tomas Soucek heads in from a set-piece. The stadium holds its breath. Offside. Ruled out.
80' — Hwang drives a low cross across the box. Oh Hyeon-gyu tucks it home from close range. 2-1.
90+3' — Kim Seung-gyu denies Michal Sadilek. Game over.

The story behind Oh's winner:
Oh Hyeon-gyu revealed after the match that he had a fever of 38°C heading into the game. He almost didn't play. His goal was South Korea's most important moment of the night — and he nearly watched it from the stands.
"I wondered if I could even play," he said. "It was possible thanks to our staff and medical team."
