LeBron James is a free agent at 41. Retire, or run it back?

Three weeks ago, the Lakers were swept by the Oklahoma City Thunder. Season over. Standing in the hallway after the loss, LeBron was asked what's next.
"I don't know. I don't know what the future holds for me, as it stands right now, tonight."
That was May 12. He still doesn't have an answer.
23rd season. 20.9 points, 7.2 assists, 6.1 rebounds per game. He also broke the all-time assists record this year — adding to a list that already includes all-time scoring, most games played, most wins. Four championships. Four MVPs. He is 41 years old and still better than most players in the league.
The question was never whether he could keep playing. The question is whether he wants to.
Two weeks after the exit, he went on the Mind the Game podcast with Steve Nash:
"I think at some point, up in June, late June, as July rolls around... we start to kind of get a feel of what my future may look like, if it's continuing to play the game that I love — or if it's not."
He's taking his time. Decisions form in late June, maybe July.
A few things are in play.
The Lakers now have Luka Dončić. GM Rob Pelinka has said the roster will be "retrofitted around Luka" — meaning less of a primary role for LeBron. His son Bronny is still on the team. His family is in LA. That matters.
But he's an unrestricted free agent and can go anywhere. The Golden State Warriors, Cleveland Cavaliers, and New York Knicks are all expected to make offers. Cleveland — where he grew up and delivered the city's most famous championship — would be a story worth watching.
