A few things that don't get taught in school:
🔹 In 552 CE, a tribe of enslaved iron-workers in what is now Mongolia destroyed their masters in a single campaign and built the largest empire the world had ever seen.
🔹 In 1071, a battle near a lake in eastern Anatolia ended 1,000 years of Greek Christian civilization there — not through genocide, but through something slower and stranger.
🔹 Modern genetic studies show that Turkish people carry only ~10–15% Central Asian (Mongolian steppe) DNA. The rest is ancient Anatolian — the same people who built Troy, worshipped in the temples of Ephesus, prayed in the churches of Nicaea.
🔹 The language is from Central Asia. The faith is from Arabia. The DNA is from ancient Anatolia.
🔹 In 1453, the last Roman Emperor tore off his insignia and charged into the enemy on foot. His body was identified only by the golden eagles stitched on his boots.
